Part 4a Right Hand:  Bow Games

Bow games can be done with either a pencil or the bow. German bow players should be able to do all of these, except happy thumb/sad thumb.
Click on the movie icon beside each group to watch a demonstration of these bow games:

Bow Games 1 - Hand and wrist flexibility builders:
• Finger taps - tap one finger at a time
• Happy thumb/sad thumb - have thumb curved then straight and go back and forth to develop thumb flexibility
• Windshield wipers - make sure students rotate the wrist and don't turn the whole arm

Bow games 2 - Arm and hand motion builders:
• Rocket - start as low as you can and move the bow or pencil in a straight line
• Rain - start as high as you can and move the bow or pencil in a straight line
• Train tracks - move the bow or pencil side to side as straight as if you are riding along train tracks

Bow games 3 - More arm and hand motion builders:
• Bounding the balloon - students have bow pointing to ceiling and pretend to bounce a balloon on the tip of the bow or pencil
• Bow Song (combination of several game) - "up like a rock, down like the rain, back and forth like a choo-choo train, round and round like the big red sun, up on your head check your pinky and your thumb!"
